How did they do that?

That’s one of the first things I wanted to know when I started web designing and was thrilled to find out just how easy it is to do!

So I decided to share:

Step One:

Create your text…I used the “impact” and recommend you find a thick, bold font to get the best result for this effect.

Step Two:

Find an image that you want to use as a background behind your text.  I found this one for free at 123rf.com. Open in Photoshop, resize if necessary to fit the width and height of your text and then copy and paste into your text file.

Step Three:

Highlight both layers…the text and the image you just pasted into the file:

Now hold down the alt key (on PC) and click.  You layers panel should now look like this:

And that’s it…Add your effects, like drop shadow and stroke if you want and you have a very cool text effect!
