Our beautiful baby dog child of 13 1/2 years passed on June 29, 2011 after an eight month illness of tremors, seizures, not wanting to eat and on some days difficulty walking.
The last three weeks of his life he seemed as if he was getting well and then within 24 hours he became very ill – we could no longer “force” him to eat and he could no longer walk, nor go to the bathroom.
We had no choice but to release him from his pain and suffering – so we had to help him pass – like in the movie Marley and Me. [Side Note: One month to the day of Brunno passing I watched Marley and Me – having no idea what the ending would be like. No one warned me and I was transported back to the vets a month earlier – with our beloved Brunno – talk about a sad, yet good cry!]
Releasing and letting go can be very difficult, overwhelming and down right painful – I know – and not just pets and humans – our stuff – our beloved possessions that no longer are of service to us, not used or needed any longer – yet we still love or have fond memories of.
Brunno was my faithful companion. During the day he was always in my office. And he knew each and every time when the day’s work was over – before I could say anything or get up from my chair – he knew the sound of the computer being turned off and would rise as if to say, “We’re done working for the day. Let’s go upstairs now.”
Needless to say it has been very challenging, sad and lonely to be in my office and home, especially since my husband went back to work after an eight month lay off!
My home and office had a deadly silence.
After “roaming” around the rooms and dragging my feet for a few weeks I decided I needed to change the energies in my spaces – first up was my office.
I decided to start with my five book cases.
If you’ve been an OverHall IT! subscriber for some years you might recall the article “Birth of a New Office: Person/Place Connected” about when I redid and Feng Shuied my office.
In that article I mentioned how empty my office felt with out my books and when I moved them back in the energy shifted – I felt like my friends where back with me.

Now five years later the bookshelves were exploding and felt I needed to begin here, releasing the books that no longer served me, and I no longer needed.
I released 120 books in all!
I feel Brunno’s presence will always be a part of me, our home, and my office; however releasing him of his pain and suffering was the right and perfect thing to do for him.
